Not thin enough.

No matter how much we hate it, fashion and weight/size will always come hand in hand. Clothes don’t always come in free sizes, and let’s face it, there are just some clothes that looks better on a certain frame. Nowadays, a lot of the clothes are made to fit sizes 0-6. I was shocked to discover that some designers are actually doing “negative” sizes! Apparently, no one will ever be thin enough!

I don’t believe that being really thin will make you look more fashionable. I don’t even believe that having the “it” bag/shoes/dress of the season will make you a fashion icon. Just remember this: clothes shouldn’t wear you, you should wear the clothes!

You should be busy looking for your style, rather than starving yourself!

Nicely put, especially the “clothes shouldn’t wear you, you should wear the clothes” part ! I’m quite thin, too thin maybe, I don’t really like it that much but it comes naturally for me (never tried to lose weight or sth) so I just embrace it and feel good in my body (which is something everybody should do).

Yep, no matter what size you are, you should love yourself. I think that everything has it’s dark side and fashion is no exception. It’s just so sad that there are so many people who feel bad about themselves because they don’t fit on a certain size or they don’t look good on the latest “it” items.

Yep, many of us forget that being fashionable is really more about being happy. Let yourself be happy and flow freely and everything you were will shine. It is really about attitude instead of body size and all that.
      You put it very nicely.

      • elyoo Says:

Definitely! The latest “it” items won’t make one fashionable, they are just telling people that they have the means to get the expensive stuff (if it looks great on them, then that’s a bonus!)

People should not think that because one is expensive or branded, it would instantly look good on them. That is why I am encouraging people to work on discovering their personal style so that they would know what clothes would really look good on them (etc.)

Also, I think personal style isn’t all about the clothes but one’s attitude when wearing the clothes.

    negative? zero?

I know few people, who starves themselves. Believe me, that’s really horrible. For example, yesterday my starving friend and I were talking about our food, and she told me that she ate only 3 apples in one day and that was too much for her. That she feels bloated.
    I was just O_O

    • elyoo Says:

Just 3 apples a day?? O_O That’s brutal. She doesn’t even know what harm she is doing to her body. I hope she changes her mind about starving herself just to feel great about her body.

Hi there. Nice post. I definitely agree with you. We’re supposed to embrace a ‘style’ which is distinctly ours because that is what style is all about anyway and stop stressing over losing more weight to fit into a certain mold/dress.

Love your style and the photos of you are just awesome and quirky and kind of whimsy too. 🙂

    • elyoo Says:

      Thank you! *blush*

I think people nowadays are too busy to fit into a certain size/ “it” items that they forget their selves in the process.

Self love is really important because when you feel that there is no one else, you have to remember that you still have yourself backing you up!

    • elyoo Says:

Yeah. I think it’s too much exposure to the “glamorous” world of fashion and hollywood, which, in reality, is not really that glamorous.
